“But China is building a coal plant every minute!!”
This a standard comment from folks who oppose any climate action in their own country.
It’s a version of a childhood whine: “Why can’t I stay up, Johnny next door stays up to midnight!”
Using China as an excuse to do nothing irresponsible, it is also plain wrong.
In the real world, China is by far the world leader in clean energy. Yes, China is still building some new coal plants but the numbers are way down and are dwarfed by the massive amounts of solar and wind projects. In fact, this year China is installing more clean energy than the rest of the world combined.
China’s carbon emissions are also expected to decline for the first time. That’s several years ahead of their UN commitment.
Will those same do-nothing-on-climate folks change their tune?
I’m not holding my breath.
“Driven mad – the insanity of EV’s as a response to climate change…
“Nothing better sums up the inadequacy of our current responses to the apocalyptic threat of accelerating climate change — or says more about how we have inflicted this desperate situation on ourselves — than the bizarre idea electric vehicles (EVs) somehow form part of the ‘solution’.”
